The Independent (2022) Elisha “Eli” James, a reporter at The Washington Chronicle, tells a story how Yale alumni Olympic gold medalist and best-selling author Nate Stirling are running independently in the upcoming presidential election. His opponents are unpopular Republican incumbent and Democratic Senator Patricia Turnbull, who, if elected, would be the first female president of the United States. Eli befriends her idol, Nick Booker. She tells him that she has revealed a conspiracy: Turnbull embezzles lottery money (especially $1 for every $1,000), and Smuggled her Super PAC (Political Action Committee) for free in public schools. near the end of the election Eli and Booker discover that the perpetrators of the fraud are not Turnbulls. but sterling They talk to Sterling and have him confess his involvement. meanwhile Eli’s father died of cancer.
